About the Insight Program
INSIGHT is a an undergraduate-level training program of the U.S. Center for World Mission that prepares future missionaries and World Christian leaders through intensive study of God’s purposes in the world throughout history. INSIGHT is a thoroughly missional worldview study program and an excellent foundation for students considering serving internationally in any field.
Who is Insight For?
INSIGHT was created for high school graduates ages 17-25 with an interest in missions, and for churches, schools, and NGOs seeking to train students through an intellectually engaging study of the Bible, missions, and worldviews.
INSIGHT programs can be hosted through churches, schools, and NGOs at a fraction of the cost of a typical 4-year missions degree. Students earn a certificate in Bible & Missions from the U.S. Center for World Mission or up to 32 units of general education college credit.
The Curriculum
The curriculum has been developed by the USCWM, creators of the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course and the graduate level World Christian Foundations study program. INSIGHT is an intensive, cross-disciplinary study of cultures, missions, church history, theology, philosophy, the Bible and religions, fully integrated in a sweeping study of world history.
The Format
INSIGHT is flexible and cohort-based. Students spend 4-5 hours per lesson in independent study through assigned readings and study guides, combined with 1.5-2 hours per lesson in facilitated discussion. Individual programs arrange topical guest speakers and field trips to supplement learning. INSIGHT can be offered full-time in 2 academic semesters or lengthened and combined with supplemental training or internships specific to your location.
