In the summer of 2012 we transitioned from full time cross cultural work in Thailand to our assignment here at the Frontier Mission Fellowship (FMF) and the U.S. Center for World Mission.

As a couple, we have pursued God's calling to global missions since we were married.

Here is the testimony of how God has called and led us.

Submitted

From John:

I became fully persuaded of the truth of the Bible and the claims of Jesus Christ while serving in the US Navy. At the age of twenty years old, I left behind a blatant habitual lifestyle of sin and rebellion to give my life to Jesus Christ and fully follow God’s plan for my life. Jacqueline has been a believer since she was fifteen, but has experienced her share of heartache and hard times too.

Called

After being dramatically impacted by the power of God while in the military, I sensed a strong call from God to the ministry. My heart’s cry, like the prophet Isaiah’s was, “Here I am Lord, Send Me!”

Exposed

I was later sent to a ship in Japan to finish my military enlistment. It was during this time, that I began to actively pursue this ministry call as I traveled throughout South East Asia and the Middle East. During this season, I spent time in Thailand on three different occasions.

At each place I lived and worked in, I was able to connect with and support Church leaders and believers from many different backgrounds. I won other young guys to Christ and gathered them for Bible study, prayer, outreach and worship each week.

Awakened

It was during this season that God gave me a glimpse into His global plan and a heart to play a part in it. He directed me to certain key people who made a deep impact on my thinking in regards to cross cultural work, the remaining task of missio dei, the reality of the unreached, and access to the Gospel.

In a "chance" encounter in Okinawa, Japan I met an Air Force couple who gave me a "Perspectives" reader and a few other books about unreached peoples. This encounter and these books heavily influenced my missions focus and direction.

Trained

After this season and the end of my military enlistment, I returned to the United States and began formal ministry training. During this season I pioneered a ministry to the young military community stationed in our city, pulling together believers from many different churches to reach out many times each week.

Jacqueline and I met while in Bible college and were married not very long afterwards. We knew that God had put us together for a purpose that was greater than we could understand at the time, but we both knew it would have to do with global missions/cross cultural work. Even our wedding was a prophetic sign as we walk down the aisle as husband and wife to the song, "Ask and I'll Give the Nations to You."

Grounded

We spent the first years of our married life beginning a family, building a foundation, and serving the local church. While working a full time commissioned sales job for the next five years, I still continued to travel out on overseas mission trips. By the age of thirty, I had already traveled to fifteen different nations. By the grace of God, I was always in the top percentage of sales people in my company and my wife never had to get a second job to help support us. This season was a part of our missions life prep!

Directed

After being directed by a dream given to my wife and a word from God given to me, our family took an exploratory trip to Thailand along with our two young sons In March of 2008. After our trip we spent time in prayer about what we should do in response to the leadings we had received. Once we decided to move towards long term missions work in Asia, our decision was confirmed by our local leadership and many supernatural confirmations.

We sold our home and traveled for a year in pre-field training and to bring awareness of our upcoming ministry to churches and individuals. Exactly one year later in March of 2009 we arrived back in Thailand where we lived for three and a half years working in a variety of local ministry.

We have been a part of many outreaches to the Thai people including local Thai church ministry, village outreaches, hosting mission teams, house churches, and training seminars for Thai leaders. I have also ministered in Laos and India during this season. Since arriving in Thailand I have been a part of the SEANET group for Thailand which is made up of missions thinkers and practitioners working among certain people groups of Asia.

Jacqueline regularly reached out to Thai women, encouraged other missionary wives, and studied Thai language as she educated our two young sons.

We started our life in the Northeast part of Thailand under a veteran missionary family who have lived in Thailand for the last twenty years. We then moved into a new phase of ministry in the city Chiang Mai. While in Chiang Mai, we connected with a much larger team and work. Those who connected with us have hearts to share Jesus, live with the Thai people, and establish the Kingdom of God among them through simple local fellowships gathered around being obedient to Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We all shared a common vision and core values, but each express our unique giftings and abilities as part of the team. From this group we formed an informal sharing network focused on common values called HUB Thailand. HUB stands for Harvest, Unite, Believe and is based on the scripture Luke 10:2.

We share information on what concerning CPM, contextual outreach, and testimonies related to the Mekong region. In the summer of 2012, through a partnership with Create International, we created a training video for people coming to work in Southeast Asia.

Moving Forward

Both my wife and I were born in the fires of a powerful supernatural move of God and we are looking forward to seeing a great awakening/revival in the nations which results in the planting of many life giving ministries, churches, and movements.

Through a series of circumstances and convergences, we transitioned out of Thailand and back into the US for a season.

In June of 2012, we joined the staff of the Frontier Mission Fellowship and began working at the US Center for World Mission. In August 2013, John was asked to serve the Office of the General Director as Strategic Initiatives Coordinator.

Our focus is:

> mobilizing and equipping a new generation of disciples and leaders

> promoting strategic breakthroughs among the frontiers of global mission

> bringing fresh new generation vision, connection, communication, and perspective to the FMF & USCWM

> working to help the ministry make transition into the next phase of its life and purpose so that a whole new generation can play their part in the frontier missions movement.

Our journey is still in progress and we look forward to all that God is going to do. We are on our toes with anticipation!

We are always looking for other like minded partners to network with for mutual encouragement and partnership.

If you are interested in partnering together with us to see these dreams and visions become realities, we are eager to connect with you.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. God bless you as you live out the great adventure He has for your life.
