Family Update from July-Aug 2014

John Lambert September 02, 2014

A friend of ours had some tickets to Legoland that she was not able to use, so we were blessed to be able to take the family just before school started back up. We spent the whole day exploring and riding rides together.

Aslan went on the biggest roller coaster with me and Brayden was the one who opted to sit it out! Aslan still talks about that being is most favorite part of the day. I was so proud of him!

The Lambert family is doing great and enjoying our new home.  As you may know, we live in the former home of our founder Dr. Ralph D. Winter.  Though California living is small, our house seems like it is just the right size for us in this season of life.  Jacqueline is enjoying the the fact that we don't have much in the way of clutter too!  The furniture that was given to us by donation all matches and is just as good as anything that we would have purchased, in fact it's better- it was free!

Vallen continues to grow and is a real joy to all of us.  I find myself enjoying him more every day.  Having my home near my work has afforded much more time for me to spend with the family and I am really soaking it in.  Vallen is now six months old and weighs over 19 lbs!  The other day a woman at church stopped Jacqueline in the bathroom and wanted to see Vallen.  When she looked at him she began to weep and prophesy many things about his life and our family to Jacqueline.  At another time, another friend who also has a prophetic bent, began to say many encouraging things about Vallen and God's calling on his life.  We are treasuring these moments in our hearts.

Brayden has developed a LOVE for the game of basketball.  He spent hours each day at the courts on campus.  Everyone that watches him remarks at how good he has become.  He has hopes to attend some John Lucas camps next year and is already asking me how he can raise support for them.  He is playing flag football for his school again this year and attending youth group at HRock church where we attend.  He also tries to fit in Boy Scouts to his already busy schedule.  Brayden marched with me on the walk from PIHOP's former location to the new auditorium. It has been great to watch him participate in the ministry here and I know he is taking so much in right now, both at school and in youth group.

Aslan is doing great and professing tremendously in both speech and through occupational therapy.  We have really been able to get him lots of great help here and we enjoy watching him progress and grow every day.  He loves watching game play videos on Youtube and shares with us lots of creative stories that he makes up.  He prays the Lord's Prayer every night and has been doing that with me for a long time now.  He is one of the most empathetic souls I have ever met.  Any time we watch a movie and someone is suffering he breaks into tears.  He is such a precious boy!

Jacqueline hosted a family who was in town for 21Project from Orlando, FL. while I was away traveling to raise our support  She is always on the run between appointments for Brayden and Aslan and does a great job keeping the home a peaceful place for all of us.  She is our hero and the glue that keeps this whole operation together!  We have been able to spend some time with friends over a meal and we really treasure those adult moments with other couples even though we all have kids crawling everywhere!

Thank you for taking an interest in our family!  We deeply desire your prayers and friendship.
