Support Raising Update

John Lambert September 04, 2014

As Nacho Libre once famously said, "Let's get down to the nitty gritty.." wink

At minimum we need $900/month in increased support

This is to cover the difference of moving from the subsidized apartment for missionaries we lived in for the last two years to a new rental home.

Would you prayerfully consider being a part of our miracle?

Support raising- some people say it is a "got to" but I say it is a "get to."  I get to share the work we do for the Kingdom with our partners.

I count it both a great privilege and a great responsibility.

Phil 4:17, the Apostle Paul speaking to his financial partners, says,

"Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account."

There is a blessing in sharing our missions work with others.

It keeps us in a place of humble dependence and faith and it keeps our supporters in a place of trusting God.  There is a blessing that goes both ways!

For over five years we have lived by the support of people who have chosen to add us as a part of their regular charitable giving.  It has been amazing to watch the provision of the Lord.

For this new season, we need to nearly double our monthly support in order to really thrive.

This simply means we need more people on our support team.

We currently have some of the most dedicated people on our team and we are so thankful for all they do to keep us moving forward.  Having a new baby in the family and moving into a new home has made our need even more pronounced.

In July I traveled to Louisiana, Florida, Atlanta, and Charlotte on a whirlwind trip.

I had a few main things I needed to attend to and one of them was meeting with current supporters and inviting new ones.  I was able to pick up a few new commitments on this journey, but we are still in this process of gathering committed givers, whether monthly or once a year...gifts we can count on.  Our supporters really blessed me in so many ways, especially when they gathered around me to pray for our family and our work...it was so incredible to feel their genuine love and care!

I continue to take any speaking invitation that comes our way so that we can build out our network.

I have received so much great feedback at every place I have spoken and have been invited to return, so that is a great praise report.  But my current work load here keeps me from completely focusing on the work of support raising.

I am trusting God that as we seek his Kingdom first and remain diligent in every way that he will continue to bless us as a family.

We hope that you will join us in prayer and faith as we continue to trust God to be fully supported in this work.

You can help by sharing our updates with your friends, asking others to support us as their missionaries, and keep us in your prayers for this matter.  Of course, we appreciate every person who takes the step to donate to our work.  You can do so by simply hitting the orange button above.  We now have automatic recurring giving available.  Choosing this option helps us to know what we can expect each month.

Whatever you choose to do, may our Father richly bless your obedience!

Love,

John & Jacqueline
